Steward's Report
The start of this event was delayed by 1 3/4 minutes due to the holding for Shepparton harness.
McIvor Neville, Molly Chapta and Beer On Tap were slow to begin.
Beer On Tap and Bro Wizard collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Bro Wizard and Beer On Tap collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn. Galloping Flash, Bro Wizard and Beer On Tap collided on the second turn checking Bro Wizard. McIvor Neville raced wide in the back straight. Beer On Tap lost considerable ground on the thirds turn and tailed off. Atomic Kitten raced wide entering the home straight. Quick Step crossed to the outside in the home straight and collided with Atomic Kitten.
Beer On Tap was vetted following the event and re-vetted following event 11. It was reported that the greyhound sustained to the right wrist and shoulder. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to trainer of Beer On Tap, Mr B. Hall regarding the greyhounds racing manners throughout the event. Mr Hall stated that it was the first time the greyhound had run over the 660m distance and had been trialling well. Mr Hall stated that he will not be entering the greyhound over this distance in future, he further indicated that he would like to race the greyhound without blinkers. Mr Hall stated that the previous starts over the 500m the greyhound was out graded. Stewards noted Mr Hall’s explanation and took no further action.
