Maniac Matilda, Woody's My Name and Eye Owe You collided soon after the start checking Woody's My Name.  Maniac Matilda, Woody's My Name, Eye Owe You and Smart Bella collided approaching the first turn causing Maniac Matilda to contact the running rail severely checking Maniac Matilda which lost ground as a result.  Stealthy Flight checked off Got Some Zip on the first turn checking Got Some Zip and Smart Bella, Stealthy Flight lost ground as a result.  Woody's My Name and Eye Owe You collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Elphaba Oz raced wide approaching the home turn and collided with Oni several times.  Smart Bella checked off Got Some Zip approaching the home turn.  Elphaba Oz and Woody's My Name collided several times from approaching the home turn to the home turn.

Elphaba Oz was vetted and re-vetted following event 3. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  

Stewards spoke to Mrs Rachael Busuttil, the representative of the greyhound Elphaba Oz.  Stewards deemed the performance of Elphaba Oz unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Elphaba Oz must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Maniac Matilda was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist injury and a spike wound to the left fore, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Harvey Warbanger was quick to begin.  Gypsy Rules and Dark Stealth were slow to begin.  Three Fifty One was very slow to begin (4 lengths).

Stewards spoke to Mr Joseph Abela, the trainer of My Echidna regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. My Echidna last raced on 20 January 2018 and is returning from a injury to both wrists.

Orlando Cruise and Maireana collided on the first turn.  Orlando Cruise and Ghostly Terrah collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Flying Queen and Blue Irish collided in the home straight.  Nostalgia checked off Blue Irish approaching the winning post.

Nostalgia was vetted and re-vetted following event 8. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. After viewing all available video footage, the Stewards were satisfied that Nostalgia checked off the heels of Blue Irish approaching the winning post.

Ghostly Terrah was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to the left hind, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Waltz On Bye and Belleperi Miss collided soon after the start.  Surfonic Pearl and Tory's Rocket collided approaching the first turn.  Waltz On Bye and Belleperi Miss collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Tolga crossed in on the first turn checking Tory's Rocket.  Aston Ciobo checked off Surfonic Pearl on the first turn.  Tory's Rocket and Gunmetal Liam collided approaching the home turn checking Gunmetal Liam.

Stewards spoke to Mr Rinaldo Divirgillo, the trainer of Tegxcellent regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Tegxcellent last raced on 8 February 2018 and is returning from a change of kennels.

A pre-race sample was taken from Ninetymile Hawk.

This event was approxamatley 2 minutes late to start due to starter having to remove water in one of the starting boxes. 

Tegxcellent. Nimble Lucy and She's Our Poppy were quick to begin.

Ninetymile Hawk faltered on the first turn and lost ground checking Trapezius.  Tegxcellent and Nimble Lucy collided approaching the home turn.  Flying Storm and Chase The Nugget collided approaching the home turn checking Chase The Nugget.  Tegxcellent crossed to the outside approaching the home turn and failed to pursue the lure by due commitment severely checking Nimble Lucy.

Ninetymile Hawk was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist sprain and a left back muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Rinaldo Divirgillio, the trainer of the greyhound Tegxcellent regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Tegxcellent was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist sprain and right back muscle injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Tegxcellent with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Divirgillio pleaded not guilty to the charge, Tegxcellent was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Machiko and Wadelock Venus were quick to begin.  Three Scoops was slow to begin.  

Machiko and Bold Reflection collided approaching the first turn checking Machiko.  Paddy's Cripp and Wadelock Venus collided on the first turn.  Paddy's Cripp and Dr. Kestrel collided in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Mahjong Magic trialled over the 400mtrs from box 6, weight 33.0kgs, the greyhound was placed 1stin a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.88, the greyhound won by a margin of 7 lengths. Mahjong Magic was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Gregory Tuck, the trainer of Joni Sunset regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Joni Sunset last raced on 1 October 2017 and is returning from seasonal and a back muscle injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Joni Sunset trialled over the 400mtrs from box 2, weight 31.0kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.88, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 10 lengths. Joni Sunset was Cleared.
