Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Air Commander.
Tahlia's Diamond, Soda Flakes, Psychedelic Jay and Akina Blitz were slow to begin. Pyschedelic Jay checked off Soda Flakes on the first turn checking Soda Flakes. Charlie Haze and Akina Blitz collided entering the front straight. Soda Flakes raced wide in the front straight. Soda Flakes galloped on the heels of Oscar De Lonhro on the fifth turn checking Soda Flakes and severely checking Oscar De Lonhro which fell as a result.
Osacar De Lonhro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right wrist. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Rowley, trainer of Akina Blitz regarding the greyhound's step up in distance. Mr. Rowley stated that he believes that the greyhound is suited to this distance.
A sample was taken from Tahlia's Diamond, the second placegetter in this event.
