Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Flamin' Miracle.
Well Armed and Sirius Matter were quick to begin. Crackerjack Mick was slow to begin.
My Territory and Elle Gazelle collided approaching the first turn, checking My Territory. Big Tilly checked off Shimmy Dat Ray approaching the home turn, checking Crackerjack Mick. Flamin' Miracle eased approaching the home turn. Flamin' Miracle raced wide on the home turn. Well Armed and Sirius Matters collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Flamin' Miracle and Shimmy Dat Ray collided in the home straight.
Flamin' Miracle was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right deltoid muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Ronald Dunne, the trainer of the greyhound Flamin' Miracle, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Flamin' Miracle with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Dunne pleaded guilty to the charge, Flamin' Miracle was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for three months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
