Staying In Paris was quick to begin; La Vagabonde was quick to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start, colliding with Axel's A Rebel, Gagey's Snags, Stella View and Staying In Paris, checking Stella View.
Staying In Paris checked off La Vagabonde on the first turn. Stella View, Nukstar, Gagey's Snags, Axel's A Rebel and Kintamani collided on the first turn, checking Gagey's Snags, Axel's A Rebel and Kintamani. Stella View checked off Nukstar on the first turn. Nukstar, Gagey's Snags, Axel's A Rebel and Kintamani collided on the second turn, checking Gagey's Snags and Stella View, and severely checking Kintamani and Axel's A Rebel. Gagey's Snags shifted out and collided with Lorian Victory on the home turn, checking Lorian Victory. Gagey's Snags marred Lorian Victory several times in the home straight, severely checking Lorian Victory.
Gagey's Snags was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left pectoral (chest) muscle. A ten-day veterinary stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Dale Chapman, the kennel representative for the greyhound Gagey's Snags, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Gagey's Snags with marring. Mr Chapman pleaded guilty to the charge, Gagey's Snags was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
