Zipping Buck was slow to begin. Ruby's Willow went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.
Quartz Vein and My Name's David collided soon after the start. Ruby's Willow and Zipping Buck collided soon after the start. Ruby's Willow checked off Zipping Buck on the first turn. Annie Lava, In A Spin and My Name's David collided on the first turn. Zipping Buck checked off In A Spin entering the front straight and crossed to the outside. Annie Lava, In A Spin and Quartz Vein collided on the second turn, checking In A Spin and Quartz Vein, and severely checking Annie Lava, and Ruby's Willow, Ruby's Willow raced wide as a result.
