Steward's Report
Mr C Bermingham failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Poor Old Percy for racing. A fine of $100 was issued pursuant to GAR 97(2).
Vilma Bale and Saint Raine were quick to begin. Shotgun Shaka was slow to begin.
Poor Old Percy - contacted running rail approaching first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have bruising to the left shoulder and left hip. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Shotgun Shaka (trailed field) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Re-vet declined.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mrs D Bewley regarding Shotgun Shaka’s overall performance. After hearing submissions from Mrs D Bewley, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Shotgun Shaka unsatisfactory. Shotgun Shaka must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
