A pre-race sample was taken from Quest For Glory.
Dechambeau, Mini Fernando and Rockin' Roz were quick to begin. Kulu Lightning, Mira's Potion, Magnus Keroma and Giant Jarvis were slow to begin.
Dechambeau, Mini Fernando and Mira's Potion collided on the first turn. Dechambeau checked off the heels of Mini Fernando on the first turn, causing Dechambeau to fall and Magnus Keroma to hurdle the fallen greyhound. Kulu Lightning hit the inside running rail on the first turn. Mini Fernando checked off the heels of Mira's Potion approaching the second turn. Kulu Lightning and Mini Fernando collided on the second turn. Mira's Potion checked off Rockin' Roz in the back straight.
Dechambeau was vetted following the event.It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fracture of the left radius and ulna, and was humanely euthanased.
