Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Royal Bruno.
She's Our Poppy and Artistic Alyssa were quick to begin. Parie Shiraz was slow to begin. Joyce's Choice, Pinky Tuscadero and Swanny Flyer collided approaching the first turn severely checking Joyce's Choice and Pinky Tuscadero. Royal Bruno failed to pursue the lure in the home straight.
Royal Bruno was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Bottrell, the trainer of the greyhound Royal Bruno regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Royal Bruno with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Bottrell pleaded not guilty to the charge, Royal Bruno was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Satisfactory Trial Results - Pancake trialled over the 440m from box 1, weight 26.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.91, the greyhound won by a margin of 13 lengths. Pancake was Cleared.
