A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Miriam's Wish a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Where's Lachie was slow to begin. Cosmic Reign and Joyous Jill collided approaching the first turn checking Cosmic Reign. Come On Charlize checked off Bold Crusade on the first turn checking Miriam's Wish. Where's Lachie checked off Cosmic Reign on the first turn. Bold Crusade and Joyous Jill collided in the back straight checking Joyous Jill. Cosmic Reign and Crackerjack Man collided on the second turn. Miriam's Wish checked off Come On Charlize approaching the home turn. Come On Charlize checked off Joyous Jill entering the home straight. Bold Crusade checked off Miriam's Wish entering the home straight. Cosmic Reign and Crackerjack Man collided in the home straight. Cosmic Reign raced wide in the home straight. Miriam's Wish eased approaching the winning post.
Miriam's Wish was vetted and after being re vetted following event 8, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms C. Shields, the representative of the greyhound Miriam's Wish regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Miriam's Wish with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Shields pleaded not guilty to the charge, Miriam's Wish was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. L Fulford representative of Cosmic Reign and reminded him of his responsibilities after he failed to engage a catcher for this event (GAR 48).
