A pre-race sample was taken from Kraken Pace.

Go Slow Goldy and Why Not Grace were quick to begin.  North Paw was slow to begin.  Loroupe and Hayley's Style collided soon after the start, checking Loroupe.  North Paw galloped on Penny Rocks approaching the second turn, severely checking Hayley's Style which stumbled as a result.  Go Slow Goldy checked off Kraken Pace on the third turn.  Hayley's Style and Kraken Pace collided entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds.  Hayley's Style turned its head outwards in the home straight and made contact with Kraken Pace.

Penny Rocks was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right foreleg deltoid and saddle injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Craig Solkhon, the handler of the greyhound Hayley's Style, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Hayley's Style was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg monkey muscle injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Hayley's Style with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Solkhon pleaded guilty to the charge, Hayley's Style was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
