Little Fran was a late scratching at 11:31 am, due to being unable to make it to the track as a result of fires near the Trainer's property.  Stewards accepted the Trainer's explanation and no stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Mario Briganti, the handler of Unmistakable, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Unmistakable last raced on 29 November 2017.  Mr Briganti stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left metacarpal injury.

Redhead Chez, Uringa and Sisco Yes were slow to begin.  Redhead Chez and Greedy Grebe collided soon after the start, checking Redhead Chez.  Greedy Grebe checked off Tyche Onyx on the first turn, checking Redhead Chez and Uringa, and causing Redhead Chez to race wide.  Redhead Chez and Unmistakable collided on the second turn, checking Redhead Chez.  Greedy Grebe lost ground on the third turn.

Redhead Chez was vetted and after being re-vetted following event five, it was reported that the greyhound sustained left foreleg deltoid and saddle muscle injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed. Stewards issued a warning to Mr Sean Cachia, the handler of Redhead Chez, regarding the greyhound’s overall performance. In not taking more severe action Stewards noted the injuries sustained, the rise in grade and its first start at the track as the greyhound normally races on u-turn tracks, Mr Cachia stated the greyhound would return to tier 3 racing.

Greedy Grebe was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right foreleg deltoid and saddle muscle injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Dyna Quarter was a late scratching at 12:43 pm, due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr Michael Ferguson was fined the sum of $100.

Johnny Wishbone was quick to begin.  Canterbury was slow to begin.  Cairnlea Rosie and Mepunga Kyran collided soon after the start.  Stinga's Mate and Garna Bolt collided soon after the start.  Garna Bolt checked off Disco Lemonade on the second turn, causing Garna Bolt to lose considerable ground.  Johhny Wishbone raced wide entering the back straight.  Cairnlea Rosie galloped on Johnny Wishbone on the third turn.  Johnny Wishbone and Stinga's Mate collided approaching the home turn, checking Johnny Wishbone.  Johnny Wishbone, Canterbury and Disco Lemonade collided on the home turn, severely checking all three greyhounds.

Garna Bolt was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right foreleg deltoid muscle injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Buddy Blinx was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg spike wound.  No stand down period was imposed.

All You Got was quick to begin.  Slingshot Blitz and Dark Star collided approaching the first turn, checking Dark Star.  Dark Star raced wide on the first turn.  Slingshot Blitz faltered on the second turn and lost considerable ground.  Ballerina checked off All You Got on the third turn.

Wise Roseberg was slow to begin.  Newfire Chelle, Wise Rosberg, Zefron and Liberty Tron collided on the first turn, checking Newfire Chelle, severely checking Wise Rosberg, Zefron and Liberty Tron, and causing Wise Rosberg to fall.  Hardaway Kate checked off Newfire Chelle in the back straight, severely checking Hardaway Kate and Liberty Tron, and causing Hardaway Kate and Liberty Tron to lose considerable ground.

Go Slow Goldy and Why Not Grace were quick to begin.  North Paw was slow to begin.  Loroupe and Hayley's Style collided soon after the start, checking Loroupe.  North Paw galloped on Penny Rocks approaching the second turn, severely checking Hayley's Style which stumbled as a result.  Go Slow Goldy checked off Kraken Pace on the third turn.  Hayley's Style and Kraken Pace collided entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds.  Hayley's Style turned its head outwards in the home straight and made contact with Kraken Pace.

Penny Rocks was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right foreleg deltoid and saddle injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Craig Solkhon, the handler of the greyhound Hayley's Style, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Hayley's Style was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg monkey muscle injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Hayley's Style with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Solkhon pleaded guilty to the charge, Hayley's Style was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Myrniong Cosmo was quick to begin.  Just Blacky was slow to begin.  Magenta Gold was very slow to begin (4L).  Major Curly crossed to the inside on the first turn, checking Myrniong Cosmo and Here's Tiger.  Scott Dynamism raced wide on the first turn, checking Just Blacky.  Winston Cruise and Party Every Day collided entering the back straight.  Here's Tiger lost ground from the third turn.
