Alouette Jack was quick to begin. Tayla's Banjo, Bugs Boloney and Tarree's Ruslie were slow to begin.
Tarree's Ruslie, Speedy Ryder and Tito Mojito collided soon after the start. Alouette Jack faltered at the 250m mark. Bugs Boloney crossed to the outside at the 250m mark. Cavalry Rose and Tarree's Ruslie collided at the 150m mark.
