Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Downing Street (reserve not required) in this event on 13 March 2018, pursuant to GAR 79A.
Totally Fab was quick to begin.
Totally Fab, Zoe The Pest and Adam Mandam collided approaching the first turn checking Zoe The Pest. Cherokee Shimmer eased approaching the first turn checking Doused In Mud, Totally Fab, Zoe The Pest and severely checking Dynamo Jezz and Adam Mandam, Adam Mandam hit the running rail and subsequently tailed off. Zippy Lynet and Dynamic Rainbow collided on the first turn. Totally Fab and Doused In Mud collided on the second turn. Zoe The Pest and Zippy Lynet collided on the third turn checking Zoe The Pest.
Adam Mandam was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left calf injury and an abrasion to the left Achilles, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr D. Crawford, the trainer of the greyhound Cherokee Shimmer regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Cherokee Shimmer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left medial hock, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Cherokee Shimmer with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Crawford pleaded guilty to the charge, Cherokee Shimmer was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
