Steward's Report
Mrs. L. Randall, trainer of Flying Mozzie declared a new weight of 30.3 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Flying Mozzie last raced at 31.6 kgs.
Zipping Todd and Flying Mozzie were quick to begin. Old Sandy Pub was slow to begin. Catcha Nugget's teeth became lodged in its muzzle soon after the start and remained lodged throughout the event. Doble Estandar, Waltz On Bye and Sandtrack Sniper collided soon after the start checking Waltz On Bye. Good One Carl and Flying Mozzie collided soon after the start checking Good One Carl. Zipping Todd and Flying Mozzie collided on the first turn checking Flying Mozzie. Sandtrack Sniper and Good One Carl collided on the first turn checking Doble Estandar and Sandtrack Sniper. Zipping Todd and Catcha Nugget collided approaching the home turn checking Zipping Todd, Waltz On Bye and Good One Carl. Doble Estandar eased in the home straight and collided with Old Sandy Pub checking Old Sandy Pub. Waltz On Bye and Catcha Nugget collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds. Zipping Todd raced wide in the home straight.
Doble Estandar was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Mr. S. Healey, the representative of the greyhound declined the option to have the greyhound re- vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Healey, the represenative of the greyhound Doble Estandar regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Doble Estandar with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Healey pleaded not guilty to the charge, Doble Estandar was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfctory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
