Bro's Little Gem was a late scratching at 6.15pm on 21 April 2018 due to a left front toe laceration (GAR 23). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Carlanna Casey, Deflection and Bejarno were slow to begin.
Deflection checked off Bejarno on the first turn. Ayo Joy checked off Liberty Tron in the front straight. Tempered checked off Ayo Joy on the second turn and collided with Bejarno. Carlanna Casey and Tempered collided on the third turn, checking Tempered.
