Steward's Report
Long Liv Sid was a late scratching at 2:08pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Steward's will require a veterinary certificate of clearance before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr Keith Kelly, the trainer of Podium Express regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Podium Express last raced on 20 December, 2017 and is returning to racing following a back injury.
Mr Keith Kelly, trainer of Rapid Rock declared a new weight of 26.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Rapid Rock last raced at 24.2kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Need A Zac.
Shrek's Rusty was slow to begin.
Podium Express raced wide on the first turn. Shrek's Rusty, Sure Load and Rapid Rock collided on the first turn causing Sure Load and Rapid Rock to race wide. Sure Load checked off Rapid Rock on the home turn.
Podium Express was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury and thoraco-lumbar muscle pain, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
