Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Starter Ms K.McMahon did not act in any official capacity for this event.
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Master Brett engaged in this event on 2 January, 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Jack's Alouette was quick to begin. Ima Brickie was slow to begin. Master Brett, Dan The Man and Miss Booming collided soon after the start. Cash Or Card, Miss Booming and Topaz Warrior collided on the first turn, checking Cash Or Card which collided with Ima Brickie. Master Brett and Topaz Warrior collided on the home turn, checking Master Brett. Jack's Alouette and Dan The Man collided on the home turn. Master Brett clipped the heels of Topaz Warrior entering the home straight. Dan The Man marred Jack's Alouette several times entering the home straight, in the home straight and approaching the winning post. Topaz Warrior and Cash Or Card collided in the home straight.
Dan The Man was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left hind shin, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K Goodwin, the trainer of the greyhound Dan The Man regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight, in the home straight and approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Dan The Man with marring. Mr. Goodwin pleaded guilty to the charge, Dan The Man was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 12 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(c), before any future nomination will be accepted
