Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Dark Chance engaged in this event on 2 January, 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Sidevalve was slow to begin. Emily Skye, Dark Chance and Dragon's Den collided soon after the start, checking Emily Skye. Dark Chance and Dragon's Den collided on the first turn. Exford Lumpy and Emily Skye collided on the first turn, severely checking Emily Skye. Galo's Best, Dragon's Den, Exford Lumpy and Sidevalve collided approaching the home turn. Dragon's Den faltered approaching the home turn and raced wide. Exford Lumpy and Will Dazzle collided approaching the winning post.
Dragon's Den was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left hind leg and an injury to the left wrist, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Meeting comments:
Re-Vetted Greyhound - Kraken Mazing was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and was cleared to race.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Tiny Octane trialled over the 390m from box 7, weight 36.7kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 22.43, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 11.5 lengths. Tiny Octane was not cleared.
Tiny Octane was vetted following the trial. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Golden Aura trialled over the 450m from box 8, weight 31.3kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 26.01, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.25 lengths. Golden Aura was cleared.
Mr. C. Newman, trainer of Golden Aura declared a new weight of 31.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Golden Aura last raced at 32.8kg.
