Cheese Icy was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Don's Gas was slow to begin. Gray Grey Goose and Fruit Frames collided soon after the start. Alabama Lane, Gray Grey Goose and Fruit Frames collided approaching the first turn, checking Gray Grey Goose. Don's Gas and Warming Galo's collided on the first turn. Alabama Lane and Fruit Frames collided on the first turn, checking Fruit Frames and severely checking Alabama Lane. Don's Gas and Warming Galo's collided entering the home straight and in the home straight. 

A sample was taken from Naomi Allen - the winner of the event. 

Stewards charged Mr. P. Matthews, the trainer of Cheese Icy, with a breach of GAR 46(2) in that he failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing. Mr. Matthews pleaded guilty to the charge. Steward's issued Mr. Matthews with a reprimand on this occasion. 

This race was delayed by approximately 1.25 minutes to allow for a Kawasaki gallops meeting. 

Scott A Secret was quick to begin. Don's Queen and Ima Rig collided soon after the start. Ima Rig clipped the heels of Another Bekim approaching the first turn. Cosmic Squaw, Ima Rig and Slow As Thunder collided approaching the first turn. Black In Town and Another Bekim raced wide on the home turn.

Slow As Thunder was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right shin, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stir Fry Shrimp and Tomal were quick to begin. Masked Belle was slow to begin. Kynan's Revenge and Placid Murphy collided approaching the first turn, causing Kynan's Revenge to contact the running rail. Kynan's Revenge and Mega Moo collided approaching the first turn. Mega Moo and Masked Belle collided on the first turn, checking Mega Moo. Mega Moo clipped the heels of Hua Hin approaching the home turn, checking Mega Moo. 

A sample was taken from Stir Fry Shrimp - the winner of the event. 

Kynan's Revenge was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the right hind paw, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Arachnophobia engaged in this event on 2 January, 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Doc Nam was a late scratching at 2:44pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to bruising to the right lateral triceps. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Lorella and Destini Laredo collided soon after the start. Some Spark and Divino collided approaching the first turn. Destini Laredo and Binky Bale collided on the first turn. Some Spark and Binky Bale collided approaching the second turn. Lorella and Destini Laredo collided on the third turn. Divino and Binky Bale collided on the third turn, checking Rattle Gate which collided with Binky Bale. Lorella and Destini Laredo collided approaching the home turn, checking Lorella.

Crackerjack Joff was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail to the left fore foot, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Beksun engaged in this event on 2 January, 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Little Dynamo and Mood Swings were quick to begin. Beer On Tap and It Is Done collided soon after the start. Beksun faltered on the first turn and tailed off. Beer On Tap clipped the heels of Tat Tubby approaching the home turn.

Beksun was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a toe collateral ligament rupture to the right hind foot, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  

Starbright Kate was a late scratching at 2:02pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a tail injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Crackerjack Roy and Here's The Trump collided soon after the start. Billiluna and Crackerjack Roy collided soon after the start. Crackerjack Roy, Billiluna and Mantra Mick collided approaching the first turn, checking Mantra Mick and Billiluna. Here's The Trump and Solo collided on the first turn. An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Master Brett engaged in this event on 2 January, 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Jack's Alouette was quick to begin. Ima Brickie was slow to begin. Master Brett, Dan The Man and Miss Booming collided soon after the start. Cash Or Card, Miss Booming and Topaz Warrior collided on the first turn, checking Cash Or Card which collided with Ima Brickie. Master Brett and Topaz Warrior collided on the home turn, checking Master Brett. Jack's Alouette and Dan The Man collided on the home turn. Master Brett clipped the heels of Topaz Warrior entering the home straight. Dan The Man marred Jack's Alouette several times entering the home straight, in the home straight and approaching the winning post. Topaz Warrior and Cash Or Card collided in the home straight. 

Dan The Man was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left hind shin, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. K Goodwin, the trainer of the greyhound Dan The Man regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight, in the home straight and approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Dan The Man with marring. Mr. Goodwin pleaded guilty to the charge, Dan The Man was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 12 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(c), before any future nomination will be accepted

Avatar Sparkle and Wiggle Emma collided soon after the start, checking Avatar Sparkle. Spanish Moon, Avatar Sparkle and Galloping Benny collided approaching the first turn, checking Spanish Moon. Wiggle Emma and Kathy's Lady collided on the first turn. Avatar Sparkle and Jack's Lass collided on the first turn. Wiggle Emma and Galloping Benny collided on the home turn. Spanish Moon and Canadash collided on the home turn, checking Canadash which stumbled and tailed off. Galloping Benny and Roger Cherry collided approaching the winning post. 

Canadash was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fracture to the right hock and was humanely euthanased. 

This race was delayed by approximately 1.3 minutes due to the veterinary surgeon being held up with the previous race and a small gap between races. 

Chrissy Pee, Ripsaw Ronny and Stellar Flash collided soon after the start. Kraken Aye Kay, Chrissy Pee, Stellar Flash, Right Off Spot, Rare Scents and Blucifer collided approaching the first turn, checking Stella Flash, Right Off Spot and Rare Scents. Ripsaw Ronny faltered and lost ground approaching the home turn. Right Off Spot eased approaching the home turn. 

Ripsaw Ronny was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left wrist and right calf, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

Right Off Spot was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right radius, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Dark Chance engaged in this event on 2 January, 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Sidevalve was slow to begin. Emily Skye, Dark Chance and Dragon's Den collided soon after the start, checking Emily Skye. Dark Chance and Dragon's Den collided on the first turn. Exford Lumpy and Emily Skye collided on the first turn, severely checking Emily Skye. Galo's Best, Dragon's Den, Exford Lumpy and Sidevalve collided approaching the home turn. Dragon's Den faltered approaching the home turn and raced wide. Exford Lumpy and Will Dazzle collided approaching the winning post. 

Dragon's Den was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left hind leg and an injury to the left wrist, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

Meeting comments: 

Re-Vetted Greyhound - Kraken Mazing was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and was cleared to race. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Tiny Octane trialled over the 390m from box 7, weight 36.7kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 22.43, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 11.5 lengths. Tiny Octane was not cleared. 

Tiny Octane was vetted following the trial. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Golden Aura trialled over the 450m from box 8, weight 31.3kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 26.01, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.25 lengths. Golden Aura was cleared. 

Mr. C. Newman, trainer of Golden Aura declared a new weight of 31.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Golden Aura last raced at 32.8kg.
