Quink was a late scratching at 11.06pm on 25 January, 2018 due to injury (GAR 23). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
The start of this event was delayed by approximately two minutes due to delays in the kennelling area.
Captain Marvel was slow to begin.
Merc, Blackjack's Back and Galo's Best collided soon after the start. Blackjack's Back and Captain Marvel collided at the 300m mark, causing Captain Marvel to stumble. Rumbling Bajooks and Galo's Best collided approaching the 250m mark. Merc, Galo's Best and Bullocky Bill collided at the 250m mark. Merc checked off Bullocky Bill at the 200m mark. Galo's Best lost ground from the 200m mark to the winning post.
Galo's Best was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.
