Steward's Report
North Wind, Sandulad, Fabio's Son and Trapezius collided soon after the start. Sandulad and North Wind collided at the 300m mark. Fabio's Son and One Smarty collided at the 300m mark, checking Fabio's Son. One Smarty checked off Fabio's Son at the 250m mark. One Smarty and Fabio's Son collided at the 200m mark. Trapezius and Triceps Brachii collided approaching the 150m mark. North Wind eased at the 100m mark.
North Wind was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. Kennel representative, Mr Michael Tharle, declined a revet.
Stewards spoke to Mr Michael Tharle, the kennel representative for the greyhound North Wind, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged North Wind with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Tharle pleaded guilty to the charge, North Wind was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
