Steward's Report
Winnie was slow to begin. Destini Lima and Just Red collided approaching the first turn. Destini Lima, Just Red, Mac's Intention, Sports Gairn and Rockstar Barnes collided on the first turn, checking Sports Gairn. Mac's Intention and Just Red collided entering the back straight, checking Just Red. Mac's Intention and Winnie collided approaching the second turn. Rockstar Barnes eased and collided with Destini Lima approaching the home turn, checking Destini Lima and Just Red. Sports Gairn and Winnie collided approaching the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr Alan Ferguson, the representative for the greyhound Rockstar Barnes, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Rockstar Barnes was vetted and revetted following event four. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right biceps femoris (thigh), a five-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Rockstar Barnes with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Ferguson pleaded guilty to the charge, Rockstar Barnes was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
