Big Boy Rocket, Badelaide Road and Stella Mcivor were slow to begin. Larry Mcivor, Little Nova and Move It collided soon after the start. Larry Mcivor and Little Nova collided approaching the first turn, checking Litte Nova. Sweet Angel and Macadamia Rose collided on the first turn, checking Macadamia Rose. Badelaide Road and Larry Mcivor collided approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Stella Mcivor checked off the heels of Macadamia Rose on the home turn. 

Serendipity Gold and With A Whisper collided soon after the start. All Inn Youi, Serendipity Gold and With A Whisper collided approaching the first turn. All Inn Youi and With A Whisper collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn. 

Winnie was slow to begin. Destini Lima and Just Red collided approaching the first turn. Destini Lima, Just Red, Mac's Intention, Sports Gairn and Rockstar Barnes collided on the first turn, checking Sports Gairn. Mac's Intention and Just Red collided entering the back straight, checking Just Red. Mac's Intention and Winnie collided approaching the second turn. Rockstar Barnes eased and collided with Destini Lima approaching the home turn, checking Destini Lima and Just Red. Sports Gairn and Winnie collided approaching the home turn. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Alan Ferguson, the representative for the greyhound Rockstar Barnes, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Rockstar Barnes was vetted and revetted following event four. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right biceps femoris (thigh), a five-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Rockstar Barnes with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Ferguson pleaded guilty to the charge, Rockstar Barnes was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

No Laying Back was quick to begin. Cool Al, Fine Wine and Prince Rohnomy collided soon after the start. Cool Al, Jai Jai Away, Fine Wine and Prince Rohnomy collided approaching the first turn, checking Fine Wine, Jai Jai Away and Prince Rohnomy. Jai Jai Away and Prince Rohnomy collided on the home turn.

Hey Alio Fozzio, Bekim Fire and Chinese Whisper collided on the first turn. Milwalcar and Pyramid Flyer collided entering the back straight. Standing Bear, Milwalcar and Pyramid Flyer collided on the second turn. Hey Alio Fozzio clipped the heels of Pyramid Flyer approaching the home turn, checking Hey Alio Fozzio.

Vintage Queen was quick to begin.

Switch Girl and Buca Doll collided on the first turn and entering the back straight. Fabregas Lara and She's A Rebel collided approaching the second turn. Provision, Fabregas Lara and She's A Rebel collided on the second turn, checking Provision. Time Sent, Switch Girl and Buca Doll collided on the second turn. Fabregas Lara raced wide in the home straight.

Provision was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right gastrocnemius (calf) injury. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr Pieter Smoor, the trainer of Provision, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the second turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr Barry Buckingham, the trainer of Cosmic Lachy, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Cosmic Lachy last raced on 1 June, 2017. Mr Buckingham stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a back muscle injury. Mr Buckingham declared a new weight of 30.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cosmic Lachy last raced at 29.2kg.

Cosmic Lachy was slow to begin.

Swift Knockout and Simply Good collided soon after the start. Kraken Ridge and Gidgee's Boss collided approaching the first turn, and again on the first turn, checking Gidgee's Boss. Swift Knockout and Simply Good collided on the first turn, checking Swift Knockout. Gidgee's Boss and Cosmic Lachy collided approaching the home turn, checking Gidgee's Boss. Cullquin Alexis and Kraken Rose collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Cullquin Alexis raced wide entering the home straight.

Brodie John, Man Down, Flying Mia and Ima Cosmic collided soon after the start, checking Flying Mia and Ima Cosmic. Beyond Today and Vanderville Kid collided approaching the first turn, checking Vanderville Kid. El Grande Pepe and Vanderville Kid collided on the first turn, checking Vanderville Kid. Flying Mia and Man Down collided approaching the home turn. Brodie John tired over the concluding stages.

Brodie John was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.

Humble Gun was a late scratching at 2:25pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Allan Ferguson was fined the sum of $100.
