Rythym Taboo was quick to begin.  Merinda Hannah crossed to the rail soon after start, checking Cloe's Intention and Harry's Entity.  Jacko Day checked off Bear Cabang soon after the start.  Rosso checked off Jacko Day on the first turn.  Rythym Taboo checked off Merinda Hannah approaching the home turn.  Bear Cabang galloped on the heels of Rythym Taboo on the home turn, checking Hodge's Lane, Bear Cabang and Harry's Entity; and causing Rythym Taboo to fall.  Bear Cabang contacted running rail entering the home straight and lost ground.

Rythym Taboo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the inside of the left hindleg, lumbo-sacral, left foreleg flexor tendon and elbow injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Bear Cabang was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr Martin Hanke, the trainer of Bound Two Affair, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Bound Two Affair last raced at Bendigo on 9 June 2017.  Mr Hanke stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal condition.

Magic Shianne was quick to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Gotta Little Big and Parish Power.  Mister Pickles was slow to begin.  Parish Power checked off Gotta Little Big soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.  Gnocchi and Micro Moo collided on the first turn, severely checking Mister Pickles, which lost considerable ground as a result.  Micro Moo and Gnocchi collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Gnocchi.  Bound Two Affair checked off Kruzin' Cripps entering the home straight.  Parish Power checked off Gotta Little Big entering the home straight.

Mister Pickles was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a lumbo-sacral injury, a three day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Piccolo Princess – beaten favourite in the event (unplaced - 8th position).

Reality Thunder was a late scratching at 9.17 am, due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards were subsequently contacted by the Owner of the greyhound - Mr J Egan to be advised of a matter personal in nature.  Stewards have accepted the explanation of Mr Egan and intend to lift all penalties currently imposed on Reality Thunder.

Manila Blue was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left hindleg calf and back muscle injuries, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Michael Lont, the trainer of Magic Ambush, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Magic Ambush last raced at Sale on 11 June 2017.  Mr Lont stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left hind leg injury.
