Ellisa's Oath was slow to begin.  Hurricane Elyse and Evie Louise collided soon after the start.  Peninsula Lady, Evie Louise and Hurricane Patch collided approaching the first turn checking Evie Louise and Hurricane Patch.  Woodleigh Girl crossed out on the first turn checking Magic Muzza, Peninsula Lady and Evie Louise; Evie Louise galloped on Peninsula Lady as a result causing Hurricane Patch to race wide.  Hurricane Elyse was checked off Peninsula Lady on the home turn.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Apila Cabbage, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Sandtrack Sniper, Toffee Lady, Little Big Chief and Silver Roo were slow to begin.  Apila Cabbage and Spin The Trolley collided soon after the start checking Apila Cabbage, Spin The Trolley and Toffee Lady.  Toffee Lady and Spin The Trolley collided on the first turn checking Spin The Trolley.  River Wild and Able Bess collided entering the back straight checking River Wild.

A pre-race sample was taken from Select Danger.

Shamus Mac and All Inn Tana were slow to begin.  Antoine and Lightning Lil collided on the first turn checking Lightning Lil, Sunset Kay and All Inn Tana.  Shamus Mac was checked off All Inn Tana on the first turn.  Gotcha Mate was checked off Select Danger entering the back straight and again on the second turn.  Sunset Kay was checked off All Inn Tana on the second turn.  Shamus Mac raced wide on the home turn.j

All Inn Hunter and Lottie Glenda collided soon after the start.  Call Me Matt, Markinch Maid, Slick Assassian, Panda Rebel and All Inn Hunter collided soon after the start checking Call Me Matt, Markinch Maid and Slick Assassian.  Panda Rebel, All Inn Hunter and Lottie Glenda collided on the first turn.  Call Me Matt and Markinch Maid collided on the first turn.  Panda Rebel, All Inn Hunter and Lottie Glenda collided on the first turn.  Call Me Matt was checked off Markinch Maid approaching the second turn.  Mikado Boy crossed to the outside on the third turn causing Zipping Jake to race wide.  Panda Rebel was checked off Zipping Jake on the home turn.  Lottie Glenda and Mikado Boy collided in the home straight.  Zipping Jake and Slick Assassian collided approaching the winning post.

Mikado Boy was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left shoulder joint, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. M. Barber, the representative of Mikado Boy regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the third turn.  Ms. Barber stated that the greyhound is a wide runner and has not raced at this track before.  Stewards also consulted with the on course veterinarian Dr. Emily Haywood who after viewing the video footage stated that in her opinion the injury the greyhound sustained could have contributed to the greyhound racing wide. Taking into consideration the veterinary' surgeon's observations and the injury sustained, Stewards took no further action.

A sample was taken from Markinch Maid - winner of the event.

Azza was a late scratching at 2:12pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to illness. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Barra Johnson.

Peninsula Panda, Will Dazzle and Barra Johnson were slow to begin.  Sunningdale and Cruella Deville collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Cruella Deville and Barra Johnson collided entering the back straight checking Cruella Deville.  Barra Johnson was checked off Sunningdale in the back straight.  Steinbeck Knew was checked off Sunningdale in the back straight.  Sunningdale and Cruella Deville collided in the home straight.

Demon Jesse and Explosive Sky were slow to begin.  Fleur De Rose and Nitro Hook collided approaching the first turn.  Elswyk Max was checked off Nitro Hook approaching the first turn checking Bandit's Girl and severely checking About To Cry..  Nitro Hook and Fleur De Rose collided approaching the home turn.  Elswyk Max and Fleur De Rose collided on the home turn.  Nitro Hook and Demon Jesse collided in the home straight.

No Guarantees was quick to begin.  Special Member, Bossino and Two Toes Tony collided approaching the first turn.  Fiery Miss was checked off Barney Boloney on the first turn.  Special Member and Bossino collided approaching the second turn.  Two Toes Tony marred Fiery Miss on the second turn severely checking Fiery Miss which raced wide.  Special Member was checked off Zipping Tina on the home turn.

Two Toes Tony was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to both hind feet and left stifle, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Bean the trainer of the greyhound Two Toes Tony regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the second turn.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Two Toes Tony with marring.  Mr. Bean pleaded guilty to the charge, Two Toes Tony was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Lochinvar Rox.

Get The Gaff and Premier Ching collided soon after the start.  Dyna Zaynabi and Miss Taryn collided soon after the start.  Craackerjack Cam raced wide on the first turn and on the second turn.  Get The Gaff and Premier Ching collided in the back straight checking Get The Gaff.  Crackerjack Cam and Get The Gaff collided on the home turn.

Crackerjack Cam was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left back muscle, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Gypsy Marlow.

Woodleigh Sal was slow to begin.  Hello Mr. Duck and Gypsy Marlow collided on the first turn.  Gypsy Marlow, Mt. View Gift, Woodleigh Sal, Middle Trucker and Zahhak Zac collided on the first turn checking Mt. View Gift.  Hello Mr. Duck was checked off Spritely Malibu approaching the home turn causing Hello Mr. Duck to stumble.  Mt. View Gift and Middle Trucker collided approaching the home turn causing Mt. View Gift to check off Middle Trucker.

A pre-race sample was taken from Bye Bye Boy.

Moody Ruby was quick to begin.  Iggy Wiggy was slow to begin.  Gammy's Choice and Elram Girl collided soon after the start.  Bye Bye Boy was checked off Elram Girl approaching the first turn.  Kev's Choice and Ollie Pedro collided on the first turn checking Kev's Choice.  Iggy Wiggy, Lorna Olive and Elram Girl collided approaching the home turn checking Lorna Olive and Elram Girl.  Ollie Pedro and Moody Ruby collided approaching the home turn.

Bye Bye Boy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right shoulder, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. Mr R Cameron was advised that he must seek follow up veterinary treatment for the greyhound within 3 days. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Black Bindi.

Bending Bananas, Black Bindi, Move That Energy and So Far Away were slow to begin.  Rosacky Blitz and Black Bindi collided approaching the first turn checking Black Bindi.  Bar The Bullet faltered and lost considerable ground approaching the first turn.  Bending Bananas and Rosacky Blitz collided on the first turn severely checking Rosacky Blitz.

Bar The Bullet was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right back muscle, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Simbarea.

Galaxy Sprite was quick to begin.  Johnny Wolf was slow to begin.  Simbarea was checked off Dargo Dasher soon after the start checking Johnny Wolf and severely checking Daisy Patch which fell as a result.  Chase On Case was checked off Simbarea on the first turn checking Johnny Wolf.  Galaxy Sprite raced wide on the first turn.  Johnny Wolf and Chase On Case collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Daisy Patch was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Hurricane Billie was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and passed fit to race. 

Satisfactory trial results:-

Hurricane Ben trialled over 315 metres from box 3, weight 30.0kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 19.31 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.75 lengths.  Hurricane Ben was cleared.

Lucky Andy trialled over 315 metres from box 1, weight 32.2kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 19.31 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 22 lengths.  Lucky Andy was not cleared.

Satisfactory trial result (GAR 77A):-

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Johnson the trainer of Pictures To Burn regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Pictures To Burn last raced on 25/02/17.  Mr. Johnson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Pictures To Burn trialled over 315 metres from box 4, weight 27.3kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 19.31 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.25 lengths.  Pictures To Burn was cleared.
