Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Simbarea.
Galaxy Sprite was quick to begin. Johnny Wolf was slow to begin. Simbarea was checked off Dargo Dasher soon after the start checking Johnny Wolf and severely checking Daisy Patch which fell as a result. Chase On Case was checked off Simbarea on the first turn checking Johnny Wolf. Galaxy Sprite raced wide on the first turn. Johnny Wolf and Chase On Case collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking both greyhounds.
Daisy Patch was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Hurricane Billie was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and passed fit to race.
Satisfactory trial results:-
Hurricane Ben trialled over 315 metres from box 3, weight 30.0kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 19.31 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.75 lengths. Hurricane Ben was cleared.
Lucky Andy trialled over 315 metres from box 1, weight 32.2kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 19.31 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 22 lengths. Lucky Andy was not cleared.
Satisfactory trial result (GAR 77A):-
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Johnson the trainer of Pictures To Burn regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Pictures To Burn last raced on 25/02/17. Mr. Johnson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel. Pursuant to GAR 77A Pictures To Burn trialled over 315 metres from box 4, weight 27.3kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 19.31 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.25 lengths. Pictures To Burn was cleared.
