Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Lingard, the trainer of Xander Bale regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Xander Bale last raced on the 30th August, 2017. Mr. Lingard stated that the greyhound is returning to racing following a spell.
Mr. Lingard, trainer of Xander Bale declared a new weight of 31.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Xander Bale last raced at 30.0kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Liberty Sage.
Krazy Jane, Mighty Storm and Evelyn were slow to begin. Liberty Sage and Prince Mikado collided soon after the start, checking Prince Mikado. Liberty Sage and Prince Mikado collided at the 300m mark. Mighty Storm and Evelyn collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Mighty Storm. Krazy Jane marred Cozi Fitz approaching the 100m mark. Bushman's Legend crossed to the inside approaching the 100m mark, checking Mighty Storm, Liberty Sage and Evelyn. Krazy Jane marred Cozi Fitz approaching the winning post.
Krazy Jane was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor lacerations to the left fore and hind legs, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Quinn, the trainer of the greyhound Krazy Jane regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 100m mark and approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Krazy Jane with marring. Mr. Quinn pleaded guilty to the charge, Krazy Jane was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
