Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Destructo Rat.
A pre-race sample was taken from Pawfection.
Destructo Rat and Woodleigh Blaze were quick to begin.
Ends Well, Aston Salute and Coolan Man collided soon after the start. Destructo Rat faltered on the first turn and lost ground. Aston Salute and Simbarea collided on the first turn checking Aston Salute. Pawfection eased approaching the winning post and collided with Woodleigh Blaze.
Destructo Rat was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Pawfection was vetted and re-vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs L. Hall, the trainer of the greyhound Pawfection regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Pawfection with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs Hall pleaded not guilty to the charge, Pawfection was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
