Candy Rose and Air Load were slow to begin. Straitline Willy was very slow to begin (5 lengths). Ruby's Image and It's A Kiss collided soon after the start. Pancake galloped on Air Load approaching the first turn. Ruby's Image was checked off It's A Kiss approaching the first turn. Hazelwood Flyer crossed out on the first turn checking It's A Kiss and severely checking Hazelwood Flyer and Air Load. Candy Rose and Pancake collided entering the back straight severely checking Pancake and Straitline Willy.
