Oriental Rhys and So Easy were slow to begin.  Little Freck and Big Butterbean collided soon after the start checking Big Butterbean and severely checking Little Freck.  Oriental Rhys was checked off Little Freck approaching the first turn and lost ground as a result.  Dr. Tracey, It's Fresh and Bowon Approach collided on the first turn checking It's Fresh, Dr. Tracey and Big Butterbean.  It's Fresh and Dr. Tracey collided on the second turn.  Dr. Tracey was checked off Big Butterbean approaching the home turn.

Oriental Rhys was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle and left chest muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Little Freck was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind foot and an abrasion to the left hind leg, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Big Butterbean was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a dislocated toe on the right front foot, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Sambucca Rose and Nicky Neo were quick to begin and collided soon after the start.  Oriental Tarj, Knuckle Biter and Blue Magoo collided on the first turn.  Sambucca Rose and Loco Queen collided on the first turn.  Sambucca Rose, Stilton Buddy and Nicky Neo collided approaching the second turn checking Nicky Neo.  Knuckle Biter lost ground from the second turn.  Oriental Tarj was checked off Stilton Buddy on the second turn.  Stilton Buddy was checked off Blue Magoo on the third turn.

Dr. Paula was a late scratching at 5.57pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Candy Rose and Air Load were slow to begin.  Straitline Willy was very slow to begin (5 lengths).  Ruby's Image and It's A Kiss collided soon after the start.  Pancake galloped on Air Load approaching the first turn.  Ruby's Image was checked off It's A Kiss approaching the first turn.  Hazelwood Flyer crossed out on the first turn checking It's A Kiss and severely checking Hazelwood Flyer and Air Load.  Candy Rose and Pancake collided entering the back straight severely checking Pancake and Straitline Willy.

Quick Finance was quick to begin.  Benny's Legend and Vis Vitae were slow to begin.  Benny's Legend and Bye All collided soon after the start.  Nice Work and Benny's Legend collided approaching the first turn checking Nice Work, Benny's Legend and Bye All causing Bye All to race wide as a result.  Miss Hanna Berry and Doused In Mud collided approaching the second turn checking Miss Hanna Berry, Vis Vitae and Doused In Mud causing Vis Vitae to race wide as a result.  Nice Work, Cheerful Scout and Doused In Mud collided on the second turn checking Nice Work.

Back Slapper was slow to begin.  Flying Sparkles, Back Slapper and Slick Maggie collided soon after the start checking Back Slapper.  Rainbow Ruby and Aston Grace collided approaching the first turn.  Aston Grace and Joe's Dolly collided on the first turn.  Dr. Leonardo was checked off Slick Maggie on the first turn.  Zero Whispers and Flying Sparkles collided on the second turn.  Rainbow Ruby was checked off Joe's Dolly on the third turn.  Rainbow Ruby and Zero Whispers collided entering the home straight.  Flying Sparkles and Joe's Dolly collided approaching the winning post.

Taabinga Flash was quick to begin.  Runnin' On Fire was slow to begin.  Sly Shiraz, Laurentide Ice and Faithful Hill collided approaching the first turn.  Laurentide Ice, Henry and Empire Entourage collided on the first turn severely checking Laurentide Ice which stumbled.  Empire Entourage was checked off Sly Shiraz on the second turn.  Larentide Ice and Empire Entourage collided on the third turn.  Laurentide Ice, Empire Entourage and Burning House collided approaching the home turn checking Laurentide Ice and Empire Entourage.  Laurentide Ice and Faithful Hill collided entering the home straight.

Laurentide Ice was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail on a right hind toe, no stand down period was imposed.

Brooklyn Skye was quick to begin.  Smitten and Invictus Lawless were slow to begin.  Dr. Sherlock and Backin' Bully collided soon after the start.  Backin' Bully galloped on Walk Woody Walk on the first turn checking Walk Woody Walk, Backin' Bully, Dr. Sherlock and Smitten.  Walk Woody Walk, Dr. Sherlock and Smitten collided on the second turn checking Dr. Sherlock and Smitten.  Lady Beatrix was checked off Invictus Lawless on the third turn.  Backin' Bully crossed out on the third turn checking Backin' Bully and Lady Beatrix.

A sample was taken from Gotham Queen - winner of the event.

Mr. G. Allen the trainer of Tree Climber Liv approached Stewards under GAR 23(2) and requested the greyhound be scratched due to the noise and lights from the carnival operating close to the track, on the second turn. Stewards granted Mr. Allen's request and Tree Climber Liv was a late scratching  at 7.35pm.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 1 minute due to a Moonee Valley race.

Brandeen Bayley and Snip Snap were quick to begin.  Jimmy Vella was slow to begin. King Kai and Aston Philou collided on the first turn checking Aston Philou.  Aston Philou stumbled in the back straight and lost ground.  Jimmy Vella and King Kai collided on the second turn.  Dynamo Magic and Josie Rumble collided in the home straight.

Hello Nimble and Sunset Believer were slow to begin.  Dukestar, Rozehill Beth and Jonny Bravo collided soon after the start checking Rozehill Beth.  Rozehill Beth was checked off Hello Nimble on the first turn.  Hello Nimble and Jonny Bravo collided in the back straight.  Dukestar and Sunset Believer collided on the second turn.

Galloping Leo was quick to begin.  Lektra Flame, Merchant Prince and Champagne Papi were slow to begin.  Lakeview Harley was checked off Ellen's Stardust on the first turn checking Merchant Prince.  Ya Welcome was checked off Penny Lane Keats on the first turn.  Merchant Prince, Ya Welcome and Champagne Papi collided entering the back straight.  Ya Welcome lost ground entering the back straight.  Lakeview Harley faltered and lost considerable ground in the back straight.  Ellen's Stardust was checked off Lektra Flame on the second turn.  Penny Lane Keats was checked off Ellen's Stardust on the home turn and collided with Merchant Prince.

Ya Welcome was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Weight Trial:-

Rashleigh's Banser trialled over 315 metres from box 5, weight 31.6kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 2.  The time of the trial was 18.83 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2 lengths.  Rashleigh Banser was cleared.

Following event 2 Stewards offered trainers the opportunity under GAR 23(2) to apply to scratch their greyhound (no penalty) , due to the excessive noise and lights from the carnival operating close to the track  Only Mr. G. Allen (Tree Climber Liv) made an application.
