Stewards spoke to Mr W. Hartigan, the trainer of the greyhound Avatar Maximus regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Avatar Maximus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained strain to the right pencil, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Avatar Maximus with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Hartigan pleaded guilty to the charge, Avatar Maximus was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Clark, the trainer of El Mirage regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. El Mirage last raced on 30th July 2017. Mr. Clark stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell and also the greyhound had been on season.

Ms. D. Coleman, trainer of Keely Allen declared a new weight of 29.9kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Kelly Allen last raced at 31.0kgs.
