A pre-race sample was taken from Tonk's Treasure.
Sharks Glory was slow to begin.
Rugged, Sharks Glory and Haddi Bale collided soon after the start, checking Sharks Glory which fell as a result. Not Enough Cash and Tonk's Treasure collided approaching the first turn. Not Enough Cash galloped on Simone's Magic on the first turn, causing Simone's Magic to fall and checking Tonk's Treasure as a result.
Sharks Glory was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tarsal sprain of the right hock, and injuries to the right biceps femoris (thigh) muscle and iliopsoas. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.
Simone's Magic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
