Ima Brickie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left calf injury and an abrasion to the left fibula region, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stevie Gee and Samsonite were slow to begin.

Stevie Gee and Amber's Romance collided approaching the first turn.  Staunch As and Samonite collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Samsonite.  Aston Groucho and Stevie Gee collided on the first turn.  Aston Groucho, Stevie Gee and Staunch As collided on the second turn checking Stevie Gee and Staunch As.  Staunch As galloped on Amber's Romance on the third turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Samonite checked off Kelly's Star approaching the home turn.  Kelly's Star raced wide in the home straight.

Amber's Romance was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Staunch As was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hock injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from He's Okay - winner of the event.

Rythym Taboo was a late scratching at 6.15pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr M. Chilcott was fined the sum of $100.

Stewards spoke to Mr A. Julian, the handler of Dreamtime Vision regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Dreamtime Vision last raced on 1st June, 2017.  Mr Julian stated that the greyhound was returning from a right wrist injury.

Mr B. Klemke, trainer of Storm The Sorrow declared a new weight of 27.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Storm the Sorrow last raced at 28.9kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Sheza Dragon.

Iona Cape was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left flexor tendon injury and an abrasion to the left hind fibula and metatarsal area, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Cha Ching Ching and Woodleigh Blue were quick to begin.  Ed's Intention and Brandeen Peaches were slow to begin.

Woodleigh Blue checked off Jane's Intention on the first turn.  Ed's Intention and Air Commander collided on the third turn.  Katlin and Air Commander collided on the fifth turn checking both greyhounds.

Stewards spoke to Mr E. Dollery the trainer regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Bruree Chief. Stewards directed that Bruree Chief be boxed first in future events.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Weight Trial (Solo) - Tiger Ty Bob trialled over the 311mtrs from box 8, weight 31.5kgs. Stewards also spoke to Mr N. Parsons, the representative of Tiger Ty Bob regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Tiger Ty Bob last raced on 25th April 2017. Mr Parsons stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell for new trainer and kennels. The time of the trial was 18.72, Tiger Ty Bob was Not Cleared.
