Steward's Report
Goldenpaw Kid was a late scratching at 11.07am due to the incorrect greyhound being presented at kennelling. Stewards spoke to the trainer Mr Whitford regarding the presentation for the incorrect greyhound. Stewards deemed this a breach of GAR 86(O) and to be negligent. Stewards issued a fine of $250, Mr Whitford pleaded guilty.
Stewards spoke to Ms S. Reaper, the trainer of Pink Lipstick regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Pink Lipstick last raced on 4th May, 2017. Ms Reaper stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell.
Miss Barossa was slow to begin.
Day Walker and Belron Gaz collided soon after the start checking Belron Gaz. Peninsula Lady, Grey Magic and Pink Lipstick collided soon after the start checking Pink Lipstick. Peninsula Lady and Pink Lipstick collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Peninsula Lady, Pink Lipstick and severely checking Miss Barossa, Day Walker and Grey Magic. Miss Barossa and Day Walker collided on the home turn.
Day Walker was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
