Stewards spoke to Ms D Winter regarding the direction that the greyhound Rooey be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Ninetymile Holly and Barked Off collided several times from the 50m mark to the winning post.

Team Son was vetted after falling in the catching pen. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.

Early Special was vetted after falling in the catching pen. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

My Lady Limonite was a late scratching at 8.58am due to illness (GAR 23).  A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Susan Abela, the trainer of My Guardman (late Guardman) regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. My Guardman last raced on 7 September 2017 and is returning to racing following a left achilles tendon injury.

Rozehill Beth was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing on the left fore foot. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Clive McLennan, the trainer of Forever Cousins, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Forever Cousins last raced on 2 July 2017 and is returning to racing following injuries to both metacarpals. 

Mr Alexander Whitehead, the trainer of Sudoku Buddah, declared a new weight of 34.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Sodoku Buddah last raced at 32.3kg.

Dr. Colt and Sudoku Buddah collided soon after the start. Cullquin Abbey and Undercover Viv collided soon after the start. Blazin' About and Forever Cousins collided approaching the 300m mark. Dr. Colt checked off Forever Cousins at the 300m mark. Allen Ernie checked off Cullquin Abbey at the 250m mark. Bushman's Legend and Cullquin Abbey collided at the 100m mark. Forever Cousins eased at the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr Clive McLennan, the trainer of the greyhound Forever Cousins, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Forever Cousins was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right sartorius (pencil) muscle, a seven-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Forever Cousins with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr McLennan pleaded guilty to the charge, Forever Cousins was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cullquin Abbey was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right long head triceps (monkey) and left gastrocnemius (calf) muscles. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr Richard Anchen, the trainer of Cullquin Abbey, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 100m mark.

In A Pickle was quick to begin.

Raloo Barbara and Jupiter Asending collided soon after the start. Divino and Major Blast collided soon after the start. Cullquin Jethro crossed to the outside soon after the start. Crime Minister, Divino, Major Blast and Surfside Squids collided at the 300m mark. Jupiter Asending crossed to the outside from the 300m mark to the winning post. Divino checked off Crime Minister at the 250m mark. Surfside Squids and Crime Minister collided at the 150m mark. Major Blast and Divino collided at the 100m mark. Cullquin Jethro and Major Blast collided approaching the winning post. Cullquin Jethro tired over the concluding stage of the event.

Cullquin Jethro was vetted and revetted following the final event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury was found. Stewards spoke to Mr Richard Anchen, trainer of Cullquin Jethro, regarding the greyhound's performance over the concluding stages of the event. Mr Anchen stated that the greyhound had not raced in the six weeks prior to today's event. Based on the evidence provided by the trainer and veterinarian, and their own observations, stewards took no further action.

The start time for this event was delayed by approximately 1.5 minutes to hold for Meadowlands harness.

Mr Kevin Ward, the handler of Don's Magic, declared a new weight of 26.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Don's Magic last raced at 28.2kg.

Koch and Shifty Joshua were quick to begin. Don's Magic was slow to begin.

Redefined and Heartbreak Love collided soon after the start through to the 250m mark. Koch and Tom's Gift collided at the 150m mark. Sublime Sull checked off Shifty Joshua at the 50m mark. Tom's Gift and Shifty Joshua collided approaching the winning post.

Koch was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a tarsal fracture to the left hock. A 60-day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr W Miller was advised that he must seek follow up veterinary attention for the greyhound no later than tomorrow, as directed by the on course veterinarian. 

Tom's Gift was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury was found.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Stewards spoke to Mr B Arrandale, the handler of Under The Doona, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Under The Doona last raced on 24 February 2017. Mr Arrandale stated that the greyhound is returning to racing following a change of kennels and a spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Under The Doona trialled over the 300m from box one, weight 33.4kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 16.61, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6.5L. Under The Doona was cleared.

Splash Of Blue trialled over 300m from box five, weight 32.6kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 16.61, the greyhound won by a margin of 6.5L. Splash Of Blue was cleared.

Hollywood Nights trialled over 300m from box eight, weight 30.4kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 16.61, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 17.25L. Hollywood Night was not cleared.
