Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Call Me Tickets upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Meehan Deano and Lakeview Maisey collided soon after the start checking Lakeview Maisey. Call Me Tickets checked off Two Dollar Pots approaching the first turn. Meehan Deano and Two Dollar Pots collided on the first turn. Two Dollar Pots clipped the heels of Meehan Deano on the first turn checking Meehan Deano, Two Dollar Pots, Riviera Cruz and Mac; Meehan Deano, Riviera Cruz and Mac raced wide as a result. Lakeview Maisey checked off Mac on the second turn checking Two Dollar Pots. Call Me Tickets eased approaching the home turn and collided with Meehan Deano. Lakeview Maisey raced wide approaching the home turn and in the home straight. Meehan Deano raced wide in the home straight.
Call Me Tickets was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left pencil muscle injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. L. Russell, the trainer of the greyhound Call Me Tickets regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. After viewing the available footage stewards were unable to establish whether the greyhound made head contact with the greyhound Meehan Deano. As a result stewards laid a charge acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Call Me Tickets with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Russell pleaded guilty to the charge. Call Me Tickets was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
