A pre-race sample was taken from Acquainted.
My Names Schultz, To The Galo's and Acquainted were slow to begin.
White Diamond and Brazen Bull collided soon after the start. My Names Schultz and Sleeping Slick collided at the 300m mark. To The Galo's marred Acquainted approaching the winning post, checking Acquainted and White Diamond.
To The Galo's was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Philip Smith, the trainer of the greyhound To The Galo's, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged To The Galo's with marring. Mr Smith pleaded guilty to the charge, To The Galo's was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
