Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Dewana Special.
Rockstar Stratus and Oshkosh Uni Chet were slow to begin.
Dewana Special, Anustar, Fool Proof, My Miss Molly, Allen Mike and Nike Viper collided approaching the first turn checking Fool Proof, Allen Mike and Nike Viper, Allen Mike and Nike Viper raced wide as a result. Rockstar Stratus checked off Anustar on the third and collided with Allen Mike checking Rockstar Stratus and Oshkosh Uni Chet. Rockstar Startus visibly eased and pulled up on the fourth turn, tailing off as a result. Anustar and Allen Mike collided on the home turn. Allen Mike checked off Nike Viper entering the home straight.
Rockstart Stratus was vetted and re-vetted following event 12. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs B. Ennis, the trainer of the greyhound Rockstar Stratus regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the fourth turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Rockstar Stratus with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs Ennis pleaded guilty to the charge, Rockstar Stratus was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A sample was taken from Nike Viper - 2nd placegetter in the event.
