Steward's Report

Polite Request and Chinookan Blue were slow to begin.

Whiney Whine and Still Quick collided soon after the start checking Still Quick.  Poppy's Way and Be Bob collided approaching the first turn checking Poppy's Way.  Poppy's Way, Galloping Flash and Whiney Whine collided on the first turn checking Poppy's Way, Polite Request, Galloping Flash and Whiney Whine.  Be Bob eased on the first turn checking Betwixt and Chinookan Blue.  Be Bob and Betwixt collided approaching the second turn checking Betwixt.  Betwixt checked off Be Bob on the second turn checking Still Quick.  Poppy's Way and Whiney Whine collided on the third turn checking both greyhounds.  Poppy's Way and Betwixt collided on the home turn.  Poppy's Way and Whiney Whine collided entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Poppy's Way was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hind spike wound, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Majoor, the trainer of Poppy’s Way regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. After viewing all available video footage Stewards took no further action. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Crawford, the trainer of the greyhound Be Bob regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn.  Be Bob was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to right hind split webbing and dislocated toe injuries, a 28 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Be Bob with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Crawford pleaded guilty to the charge, Be Bob was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
