Stewards spoke to Mrs. H. Hartigan, the trainer of Carry On Elvis regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Carry On Elvis last raced on 30 July, 2017. Mrs. Hartigan stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel.

Serendipity Gold, Cosmic Polly, Carry On Elvis and Snippyliss collided on the first turn checking Quink, Carry On Elvis and Snippyliss. Lunar Shadow and Drysdale Doll collided on the first turn checking Lunar Shadow. Quink, Carry On Elvis and Snippyliss collided approaching the home turn checking Carry On Elvis and Snippyliss.
