Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Merton, the trainer of Mighty Storm regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Mighty Storm last raced on 25th July, 2017. Mr. Merton stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a change of kennels.
Shooter's Odysey was slow to begin. Avatar Dodge, No More and Mighty Storm collided on the first turn checking No More and Wiggle Emma and severely checking Mighty Storm; Mighty Storm hit the running rail and tailed off as a result. Nunniong Fire, Avatar Dodge and Bob Carringbush collided approaching the home turn checking Avatar Dodge. Bob Carringbush checked off Serendipity Gem in the home straight.
Mighty Storm was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its left hock and left elbow and a thoraco-lumbar injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
