Grandis and Unbackable were slow to begin. Cullquin Bomber, Grandis and Price Tag collided soon after the start. Grandis and Price Tag collided at the 300m mark, checking Grandis. Early Thunder and Samba King collided at the 300m mark. Unbackable crossed to the outside at the 250m mark and raced wide throughout the remainder of the event. Samba King checked off Early Thunder at the 150m mark. Unbackable and Early Thunder collided at the 100m mark.
