Stewards spoke to D. Schwarz, the trainer of Galloping Nikki regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Galloping Nikki last raced on 22 Jun 2017 and is returning after a change of trainer and a seasonal spell. Mr. Schwarz also declared a new weight of 24.7 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Galloping Nikki last raced at 23.1.

Gearbox Girl was quick to begin.  Raven Joe and Shaker Breaker collided soon after the start.  Galloping Nikki, Ba Ria and Vandebay collided soon after the start.  Ba Ria checked off Gearbox Girl at the 300m mark.  Vandebay and Galloping Nikki collided at the 300m mark.  Alpine Eagle checked off Gearbox Girl approaching the 200m mark.  Alpine Eagle and Gearbox Girl collided approaching the 150m mark and again approaching the 100m mark, checking both greyhounds.

Mac Daddy and All Revved Up collided soon after the start.  Eaglehawk Miss and Chloe Crumpet collided soon after the start.  Rhomboid checked off Mac Daddy at the 300m mark and crossed to the outside.  All Revved Up and Big Deal collided at the 300m mark, checking All Revved Up which stumbled as a result.  Eaglehawk Miss and Chloe Crumpet collided several times from approaching the 250m mark until the 200m mark.  Big Deal galloped on the heels of Cullquin Morgan at the 200m mark, checking both greyhounds.  Mac Daddy and Cullquin Morgan collided at the 150m mark.  Cullquin Morgan and Big Deal collided at the 50m mark.

Welshman, Solar On and Alina Grand collided soon after the start, checking Solar On.  Wackadooka and Express Chain collided soon after the start.  Jacko Day and Superior Scotch collided soon after the start.  Jacko Day checked off Superior Scotch at the 300m mark.  Welshman galloped on the heels of Solar On approaching the 50m mark, checking both greyhounds and causing Welshman to stumble as a result.

Latissimus Dorsi was a late scratching at 07:18 due to illness.  In accordance with GAR 23 (4), a 10 day stand down period was imposed and Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Crime Minister was slow to begin.  Wayne Kenneth crossed out soon after the start and collided with Aston Amore.  Aston Amore and Nitro Nicole collided at the 300m mark.

Blue Afro and Nangar Range were slow to begin.  Tzar Norma and Juno Away collided soon after the start.  Charlie Rocket and Bourbon An Kahn collided soon after the start.  Sleeping Slick checked off Juno Away at the 300m mark.  Charlie Rocket and Cigars On Ice collided at the 300m mark.  Cigars On Ice checked off Tzar Norma at the 300m mark.  Cigars On Ice checked off Sleeping Slick approaching the 250m mark.  Charlie Rocket, Tzar Norma and Sleeping Slick collided at the 200m mark, checking Tzar Norma and Sleeping Slick.  Nangar Range raced wide throughout the event.

Mr C Dalton, trainer of Early Thunder declared a new weight of 33.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Early Thunder last raced at 32.1kg.

Grandis and Unbackable were slow to begin.  Cullquin Bomber, Grandis and Price Tag collided soon after the start.  Grandis and Price Tag collided at the 300m mark, checking Grandis.  Early Thunder and Samba King collided at the 300m mark.  Unbackable crossed to the outside at the 250m mark and raced wide throughout the remainder of the event.  Samba King checked off Early Thunder at the 150m mark.  Unbackable and Early Thunder collided at the 100m mark.

Stewards spoke to D. Dawson, the trainer of Xan Mai regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Xan Mai last raced on 27 August 2017 and is returning after a left triangle injury. 

Just Jezza was slow to begin.  Urana Banjo stumbled at box rise and was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Tub's Tiger crossed in at the 300m mark, checking City Rambler and Dyna Bobbi.  Dyna Bobbi and Tub's Tiger collided approaching the 200m mark.  City Rambler lost ground over the concluding stages of the event.

City Rambler was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Carr, the representative of City Rambler regarding the greyhounds performance in this event. Mr. Carr stated that this is the second start back for City Rambler after suffering a major injury and the greyhound is better suited to a further distance in time. Stewards noted Mr. Carr's explanation and took no further action. 

Zipping Simmo and Blackjack's Back collided soon after the start.  Kid Carl, Boof's Banjo and Quedos collided at the 300m mark, checking Kid Carl and Quedos.  Zipping Simmo and Blackjack's Back collided at the 300m mark, checking both greyhounds.  Zipping Simmo checked off Blackjack's Back at the 250m mark.  Quedos checked off Keep Talking approaching the winning post.

Regal Tycoon, Captain Marvel, Cullquin Panda and Toby Sure collided soon after the start, checking Captain Marvel and Cullquin Panda.  Just Blacky and Unexplainable collided soon after the start and again approaching the 250m mark.  Regal Tycoon and Captain Marvel collided at the 200m mark.  Captain Marvel and Just Blacky collided approaching the 100m mark and again at the 50m mark.

Challis Magic and Serious Bolt collided soon after the start.  Bugs Boloney and Rido's Ace collided soon after the start and again at the 150m mark.  Serious Bolt checked off Hardaway Outlaw at the 100m mark.

All Inn Houston and Agent Osti collided soon after the start.  Double The Magic and Diligent Miss collided at the 200m mark.  Turfman and Diligent Miss collided approaching the winning post.

Ace Gone Wild was slow to begin.  Meehan Deano and Tzar Knight collided soon after the start.  Meehan Deano crossed to the outside at the 250m mark, checking She's Got Dash and Tzar Knight.  Our Miss Deena and Tzar Knight collided at the 150m mark.  Ace Gone Wild and She's Got Dash collided at the 100m mark.  Tzar Knight and My Wrecker collided approaching the 50m mark and again at the 50m mark.
