Telefork was slow to begin. Avatar Vixen and Miss Oreo Mac collided soon after the start. No More and Stand Beside Me collided soon after the start, checking No More. Ledgerwood Molly and Crackerjack Tim collided approaching the first turn. Avatar Vixen contacted the running rail on the first turn and collided with Ledgerwood Molly, resulting in Ledgerwood Molly, Miss Oreo Mac and Telefork being checked, and Avatar Vixen being severely checked. Crackerjack Tim and No More collided approaching the home turn.

Avatar Vixen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the head, and spike wound to the left hind leg. No stand down period was imposed.

Kiowa Kaema was slow to begin. Puzzles, Avatar Sparkle and Dazzling Melody collided soon after the start, checking Avatar Sparkle and Dazzling Melody. Suntory Dream, Miss Peanut, Wilbur Deeds and Avatar Sparkle collided on the first turn, severely checking Avatar Sparkle, which fell as a result. Miss Peanut checked off the heels of Wilbur Deeds on the home turn. Suntory Dream and Wilbur Deeds collided entering the home straight. Suntory Dream faltered in the home straight.

Suntory Dream was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right metatarsals and a laceration to the left front leg, a 60 day stand down period was imposed. 

Avatar Sparkle was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left front leg. No stand down period was imposed. 

Mr J.Thomson, trainer of Kalani Wilson declared a new weight of 27.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Kalani Wilson last raced at 26.2kg.

A pre race sample was taken from Kiss Me Boss. 

Sweet Spud and Kiss Me Boss were quick to begin. Winlock Casper went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Al's Luck was slow to begin. Shield Of Dreams and Maximum Jan collided soon after the start. Kalani Wilson, Winlock Casper, Koitsenko, Shield Of Dreams and Maximum Jan collided approaching the first turn, checking Winlock Casper. Sweet Spud and Kiss Me Boss collided approaching the home turn. Al's Luck raced wide on the home turn. 

Maximum Bliss was quick to begin. Cawbourne Mav was slow to begin. Chasin' Destiny, Latissimus Dorsi, Winlock Rose, Maximum Bliss and Lucky Holly collided approaching the first turn, checking Latissimus Dorsi. Serendipity Gem and Cawbourne Mav raced wide on the home turn. Winlock Rose checked off the heels of Lucky Holly on the home turn, and collided with Serendipity Gem and Cawbourne Mav, resulting in Winlock Rose and Serendipity Gem being checked. Chasin' Destiny eased approaching the winning post. 

Chasin' Destiny was vetted following the event and re vetted following event seven. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. C Solkhon, the handler of the greyhound Chasin' Destiny regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Chasin' Destiny with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Solkhon pleaded guilty to the charge, Chasin' Destiny was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Subsequent to the all clear being given, it was brought to the Stewards attention that the starter, Mr. G. McLeod placed his hand on the door of the number one box. After being questioned by Stewards, Mr. McLeod stated that he placed his hand on the door to stabilize it after the greyhound had been placed in the box, as in his opinion the door was not fully closed. Stewards issued a warning to Mr. McLeod.

Bekim Lucy's and Mo Town Roy were slow to begin. Shiney Bling and Eddie Eagle collided soon after the start. Steve Keeping checked off Blackhaven approaching the first turn. Eddie Eagle crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Back On Lava, Blackhaven, Shiney Bling, Bekim Lucy's and Mo Town Roy, forcing Bekim Lucy's and Mo Town Roy to race wide. Back On Lava and Blackhaven raced wide in the back straight.

Cee Jay's Heart and Emily As were slow to begin. Garku Bale contacted the running rail soon after the start and collided with Cee Jay's Heart and Emily As, severely checking Cee Jay's Heart. Star Fever and My Girl Belena collided on the first turn. Good Luck Mick, Annie Lava and Jewel Fantasy collided approaching the second turn, checking Good Luck Mick. Good Luck Mick and Jewel Fantasy collided in the back straight. Good Luck Mick and Emily As collided on the third turn. Star Fever and My Girl Belena collided approaching the winning post.

Captain Marvel, Con Rod and Winlock Strecker collided soon after the start. Winlock Strecker, Miracles Happen, Captain Marvel and Con Rod collided on the first turn. Captain Marvel and Con Rod collided several times approaching the home turn. Mask cheked off Winlock Strecker in the home straight.

Tally Ho Billy and Big Lebowski were slow to begin. Tally Ho Billy, Ocean Bay and Cudgee's Milo collided soon after the start, checking Ocean Bay.
