Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Clint Colaiacovo, the trainer of Troy Bale, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Troy Bale last raced on 2 August 2017. Mr Colaiacovo stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell and change of kennels.
A pre-race sample was taken from Ima Brickie.
Longshot Glory, Troy Bale and Subscapularis were slow to begin. Blue Deception and Krazy Blaze collided soon after the start. Longshot Glory checked off Blue Deception at the 250m mark and collided with Fawntastic Kate. Longshot Glory and Fawntastic Kate collided several times from the 150m mark until the 50m mark. Ima Brickie checked off Grey Grouse approaching the winning post. Longshot Glory raced wide approaching the winning post, checking Fawntastic Kate, Grey Grouse and Ima Brickie.
Blue Deception was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right foreleg dew claw injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Mr. Garry Johnson, the Trainer of Blue Deception was directed to take the greyhound for a follow up veterinary examination the next day as requested by the on track veterinarian.
