Steward's Report

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Don's Gas, engaged in this event on 14 November 2017 pursuant to GAR 79A.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Killara John, scratched from this event on 14 November 2017 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Killara John was a late scratching at 10:31 am, on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to a pencil/whip injury.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Joseph Abela, the trainer of Isabella Girl, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Isabella Girl last raced on 11 July 2017.  Mr Abela stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right back muscle injury.

Don's Gas was slow to begin.  Awesome Kate stumbled at the 250m mark and lost ground.  Fernando's Jewel, Fernando's Dream and Black In Town collided at the 200m mark.  Don's Gas and Black Ziggy collided approaching the winning post.

Awesome Kate was vetted and after being re-vetted following event seven, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
