Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Kevin Ward, the trainer of Patchie Bear, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Patchie Bear last raced on 7 August 2017. Mr Ward stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left back muscle injury.
Stewards spoke to Gregory Paez, the trainer of Tills Henry, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Tills Henry last raced on 16 August 2017. Mr Paez stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left stopper injury.
This race was delayed by approximately two minutes due to Addington Harness race running behind time.
A pre-race sample was taken from Bear Magic.
Patchie Bear was slow to begin. Tills Henry crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Celtic Charm and Barb Allen. Tills Henry and Barb Allen collided approaching 150m mark, checking Barb Allen.Tills Henry faltered approaching the winning post.
Tills Henry was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg flexor tendon injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
