Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Johnnie Red.
Fiery Melody was quick to begin.
Alezan and Johnnie Red collided soon after the start, checking Johnnie Red. Destini Fortress checked off Bacardi Breezer soon after the start. Bacardi Breezer and Allen Gable collided on the first turn, checking Allen Gable. Nunniong Plain and Alezan collided entering the front straight. Johnnie Red and Destini Fortress collided entering the back straight, checking Johnnie Red who lost considerable ground. Bacardi Breezer checked off Fiery Melody on the third turn.
Johnnie Red was examined by the veterinarian after the greyhound's performance proved disappointing. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left back muscle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Due to persistent rainfall, Stewards inspected the track following the event and deemed the surface safe to continue racing.
