Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms Melanie Lithgow, the trainer of Rock It Ronny, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Rock It Ronny last raced on 5th of July 2017. Ms Lithgow stated that the greyhound is returning after a right stopper injury.
Grooven Chris was quick to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start.
Rock It Ronny and Justa Jezza collided soon after the start. Assemble Nitro, Rock It Ronny and Justa Jezza collided at the 300m mark. No Money Down and Cullquin Ghengis collided at the 250m mark, checking both greyhounds. Hide The Wallet crossed to the rail at the 250m mark. Assemble Nitro and Hide The Wallet collided at the 200m mark, checking Assemble Nitro. Assemble Nitro, Grooven Chris and Hide The Wallet at the 150m mark.
Hide The Wallet was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained cramping approaching the winning post, and a spike wound to the right paw. A three-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Martin Galea, the kennel representative for Hide The Wallet. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
